Zoveel armoede en toch willen de Congolezen vooruit.
Met een zestal dagen vertraging, door de aswolk van die Ijslandse vulkaan met die vreselijke naam, landen we op de luchthaven van Kigali. Nog een zestal uren bussen en we zijn in Bukavu. Het landschap is wisselend groen, heuvelachtig mooi, ' Le Pays des Mille Collines.
Rijstvelden en theeplantages wisselen elkaar af en in “The National Forest” laveren we tussen de apen. Tussen de bomen zien we het Kivu meer en de oude brug die ons van Rwanda naar Congo brengt.

Background & Information
Roland makes sure that the equipment in the hospital of BDOM is working fine: he takes care of the installation of the basic apparatus and trains the person who is responsible for its maintenance. In addition, he sets up a maintenance plan for each hospital.
Hilde and Gerda will explain to the doctors how they are to interpret the results of the laboratory tests. They also explain the new techniques to the lab assistants.
