We are proud of our figures of 2009!

When we sum up our actions of 2009, we are proud to see the beautiful figures that appear before our eyes, including our number one, the most beautiful figure: the African patients who have got new lives. Also check out or photo report on 2009.
  1. Our surgical teams treated about 12,750 patients either by either surgery (2,750) orthrough consultation/treatment. But they indirectly helped a good deal more patients …
  2. Because with the knowledge we passed on that year to at least three times as many local colleagues, our colleagues in turn are able to save innumerable lives.
  3. During the passed year, we were able to send out as many as 146 missions - that means that on average, every 2 or 3 days, a team left from Mechelen.
  4. In order to treat seriously ill and needy fellow human beings, 346 doctors and nurses each sacrificed 2 to 3 weeks of their leaves.
  5. Together, in 2009, these people worked about 40,000 hours for free in about fifty partner hospitals and aid stations in eight countries in Africa.
  6. In order to tackle the acute shortage of material in the local hospitals, in 2009, we have acquired 34.3 tons of medical supplies - drugs, instruments and devices.
This all is evidence for the fact that MWV really put its weight in the pan!
